If you have a Kwikboil water heater installed or if a new one has been installed and there are problems, please check the following items. If the problem persists, contact your local plumber or electrician to help you.
The Kwikboil unit does not fill with water.
Possible Causes:
- There is no power supply.
- There is no water supply.
- The filter is blocked. This is often a problem with new building installations. The water pipes are not flushed properly and some debris in the water pipes can clog up the filters that protect the Kwikboil unit.
- Electronic Controller failure.
- Solenoid Valve Failure.
Solutions:
- Check the electrical Supply.
- Check the water supply.
- Check the filter, clean and replace. It is a good idea to use a filter before the Kwikboil unit (pre-filter).
- Test the Electronic Controller and check the resistance of the Solenoid valve, Replace if broken.
The kwikboil unit fills water to low level and does not heat:
Possible Causes:
- Thermal cut-out tripped.
- Heating Element Failure.
- Electronic Controller Failure.
- Thermistor Failure.
Solutions:
- Reset the Thermal cut-out.
- If the heating element is properly wired, then check its resistance.
- Test the Electronic Controller.
- Replace the Thermistor.
The Kwikboil unit boils continuously:
Possible Causes:
- Temperature is not correctly set.
- Electronic Controller Failure.
- Thermistor Failure.
Solutions:
- Set the temperature adjustment Trim Pot.
- Test the Electronic Controller.
- Replace Thermistor.
The Kwiboil unit overflows:
Possible Causes:
- Incoming water pressure is too high. Install a pressure reducing valve. This can also happen during the night when minicipal water pressure increases.
- Solenoid Valve failure.
- Level Probe failure.
Solutions:
- Reduce incoming water pressure with a pressure reducing valve.
- Disassemble the Solenoid valve and blow air through it. If air flows through it, replace the Solenoid valve.
- Clean the Level Probe.
- Replace the Level Probe.
There is no water from the tap:
Possible Causes:
- The unit did not fill with enough water.
- The tap diaphragm is disconnected from the spindle.
Solutions: See 1. & 2. Above.
- Drain water out of the unit. When the unit is empty, disassemble and repair of the top.
No Electrical power to the unit:
Possible Cause: Power Supply Failure.
Solution: Will restart automatically when electrical power is restored.
No water to the unit:
Possible Cause: Mains water supply failure.
Solutions: When water supply has been restored;
- Continue to use as normal and the refilling process will automatically restart.
- Switch off electrical supply for 30 seconds and switch on again.
