The C-BFV is a foot operated valve with a single lever for cold potable water. Blended water can be achieved by installing a thermostatic valve such as the Rada Meynell 15/3 or Rada 215. The foot valves operate between 5-70°C and have a 15mm diameter BSP Female inlet connection. Water pressure should be between 0.5-6.0 bar. The recommended pressure is 3 bar. Many industrial sites lack pressure regulating valves, so make sure the pressure that reaches the valve does not exceed the maximum limit.
Installation must be carried out in accordance with these instructions and by a qualified and competent plumber who is registered or is a member of P.I.R.B. or I.O.P.S.A. Please make sure that you fully understand how to operate this valve before installation.
Pre-installation procedure
All plumbing piping must be thoroughly flushed before installation. Any pipe debris such as stones, sand, dust, hemp, PTFE tape and solder, will interfere with the valve and it is the plumber’s responsibility to ensure the water is clean. NOTE: It is not Chilli-B’s responsibility to clean the dirt from valves. Any callout, caused by dirt, will be charged for.
We strongly recommend installing an Easy Clean filter before the valve to ensure that dirt does not enter the valve components. We also recommend installing an isolating valve to the main water supply close to the valve to ensure hassle free maintenance in the future.
Not the position of the valve, placing it too far forward will cause the users to step on the valve lever with their weight. Placing it too far backward is cause discomfort for the end user.
Cleaning of the valve
The chrome plated parts should be cleaned using a mild washing up detergent or soap solutions, rinse and wipe dry with soft cloth. Warning: many household cleaners contain abrasive and chemical substances, and should not be used for cleaning chrome plated parts.
